Lewis Robinson Opens "The Celebration of the Short Story" at Norway Memorial Library

Lewis Robinson, speaking at Norway Memorial Library on October 18, 2007

Friday, October 26, 2007

In a talk entitled, "The Spell of the Short Story," Lewis Robinson addressed questions such as: What is a short story? Why read and write short stories? and What makes a good short story? He also talked about his process of writing a short story by sharing a personal experience and talking about how he might develop that incident into a work of fiction. This talk is one of several programs planned to increase the interest and awareness of the genre of short stories. Others programs include a Short Story Discussion Group, a short story writing workshop, a Reader's Theatre performance of Sarah Orne Jewett's story, "A White Heron," and a short story writing contest open to residents of the Oxford Hills area. The Celebration will end with a public reading of winning stories selected from the writing contest.
