Wells Reserve Seeking Library Volunteers

Wednesday, January 10, 2007

The Wells Reserve welcomes people interested in marine environments, or libraries in general, to volunteer in its Coastal Resource Library. This small special collections library has many unique items and recently joined the statewide Interlibrary Loan Service.

The Coastal Resource Library needs volunteers who would enjoy working with and learning from the library materials while helping patrons and processing interlibrary loan requests. Volunteers usually work in 3-hour shifts Tuesday mornings or Wednesday afternoons, though other times are possible.

The library also welcomes volunteers who cannot commit to a regular schedule, but would enjoy serving on its advisory committee. That group is involved with policy making, strategic planning, and acquisition decisions.

We will teach you all you need to know in a warm and welcoming space. Comfort working with computers is a plus. To learn more, please call Nancy Viehmann at 646-1555 ext 118 or email nancyv@wellsnerr.org.
