Type of Library: Public Hours: Sunday: 12-5 Monday: 12-8 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10-5 Closed Friday and Saturday Description: Sharing a building with and overlooking South Portland's Municipal Golf Course, the Memorial Branch location of the South Portland Public Library may very well be the only Library in the country where you can also play a round of golf! Established in 1976 so that the South Portland Public Library could better serve the ever growing city's population, the Memorial Branch offers a small, friendly, and cozy library to compliment the city's larger Main Library. For our small size, we offer a strong collection of children's books, across all areas. On the adult side of the library, we specialize in fiction and, following our patron's interests, have a great collection of mysteries and thrillers. We also have a collection of Large Type Editions of popular books. In addition to the book collections, we offer books on cassette and CD, films on VHS as well as DVD, access to the internet and use of computers for word processing. Soon, we will be adding wireless connectivity so that patrons may bring their own Wi-Fi enabled laptops to use in the library.
