Description:

In 1983, Edythe L. Dyer donated her home to the Town of Hampden for use as a library. Built in the late 1970's, it is a beautiful 5000 square foot building overlooking the Penobscot River. Mrs. Dyer, an avid reader, was one of the original founding trustees of the Library that now bears her name. It was her hope that the Library would become a special place for children. In keeping with her wishes, the Board of Trustees and Library staff place special emphasis on children’s books and programming while also maintaining a current bestselling adult collection including large print, audio and downloadable books as well as movies on VHS and DVD.
