Waterville Senior High School Media Center“This is better than anything on the Sci-Fi channel” was a student response to Waterville Senior High School’s “Science Through Science Fiction” movie night. A Coburn Classical Institute Grant made the media center presentation of The Blob (1958, Steve McQueen version) possible. The grant was a collaborative initiative by science teacher Rose Smith and library media director Kathleen Toubman. The grant program will assist students in their understanding of scientific principles through the viewing of science fiction films and the reading of science fiction novels. The event was an opportunity to engage students and teachers plus be entertaining and educational. Did you know that the Arctic is a repository for frozen blobs?
