Special things are happening in Maine libraries.
Rockland Public Library - Portrait of a Growing Library - April 30, 2008
Open seven days a week, the Rockland Public Library strives to be a full-service library for its community. The collection of about 50,000 items, housed in a gem of a building and located in a scenic coastal community, attracts customers from all over the country. Over 170,000 people used the library’s services in 2007.
Wells Reserve Coastal Resource Library - March 30, 2008
The Coastal Resource Library at Wells Reserve holds a specialized collection of materials focused on the ecology and natural history of the Gulf of Maine. It is located at historic Laudholm Farm in coastal York County, with fields, forests, marshes, and a sand beach just outside the library door.
The Southwest Harbor Public Library – Open Doors, Open Minds - February 29, 2008
March is Women’s History Month, and the Women’s History Project (WHP) of the Southwest Harbor Public Library will continue the tradition of presenting exhibits and programs that especially highlight the accomplishments of women. This year’s theme is “Women & The Sea”. The month-long series of events will include an art exhibition, panel discussions, a film viewing, and an ongoing oral history project.
Gardiner Public Library - February 01, 2008
Gardiner Public Library provides library services for 6 towns which makes for a busy day but it is more so with renovations underway.
Maine Regional Library System Celebrates its 35th Anniversary - December 31, 2007
The Maine Regional Library System has over 1,000 library members. Hospital libraries, school libraries, college libraries, special libraries and public libraries from Kittery to Calais are included in the membership. From tiny island libraries to large urban libraries, all can join the regional system.
Farmington Public Library - November 29, 2007
