The South Portland Public Library hosts a French Conversational Group that meets Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30, except when the library is closed. The group has a friendly, enthusiastic and informal atmosphere and all levels of speaking and listening are welcome.
While there is a library facilitator, group members share responsibility for the process of the group. The group is structured into 2 groups: one group consists of open discussions, while the other one enjoys an activity or game presented by different participants. Activities have included French caroling, card & word games, a French film, & a crêpe soirée presented by the South Portland High School French teacher.
Attendance is free and open to the public. Registration is not necessary and participants are welcome to drop in as they please. For information call 775-1835 or 767-7660. You can also find information on the South Portland Public Library website.
